Day 9

Up early.  Took out the garbage and recycling, and had time to make my shake and get to work early.  Go me!  This morning was banana mango in carrot juice.  Now I normally let the frozen mangoes sit in the juice while I take Oz out and then blend.   This morning I didn't and my poor little nine dollar blender had a little fit, but all is well and he is still working, I will try to remember to be nicer to him in the future.  Carrot shakes are a nice bright orange and don't gross the co-workers out nearly as much as the green goddess, which sometimes look green, brown, or one time an unappealing shade of grey.

Lunch was the homemade soup I made on sunday, and half a spinach pita.  Pitas were getting a little stale so Oz got the other half.

Dinner was spaghetti squash.  Now spaghetti squashes are big yellow squashes, with yellowy flesh. Simply cut the squash in half and place upside down in the oven at 350 until it is soft, I think it was like forty minutes, but as usual I am not the kind of cook that plays close attention,  I checked every so often until it was soft.  Then you take a fork and scrape the inside, it comes apart in stringy bits not unlike spaghetti ( I wonder if that is why they named it that? hmmm :)  For sauce I used tomato sauce, cooked up some mushrooms, zucchini and cut up burgers from yesterday.  and voila dinner!

Conclusion:  Yummy!!  The squash is much lighter than noodles.  It is also a little less filling, so if you are going for a super hearty meal I would probably still make noodles, but the squash had a nice light flavour.  Acorn is still my favourite of the squashes but this was all in all a good meal.  Len enjoyed as well, his favourite part being the burger bits (dude really liked those burgers)
