the story of us

When school was finished I moved back to Owen Sound, and luckily got a job right away, actually I got two jobs.  One in my field working a few days a week and the photo lab in Walmart.  It was good that I was working in my field and I actually made some really great friends working at Walmart.  But it was very time consuming.  Len worked the night shift at Goodyear at the time.

I lived in a tiny apartment with my friend Jacq and when she moved back to Kitchener I moved upstairs into an even tinier apartment.  Eventually Len moved in with me, in that very tiny apartment.  We never really had big relationshipy talks and everything just sort of happened naturally.  We were crowded, we were kind of poor, we were tired from working. Looking back I can say it was a very happy time in my life.  That tiny crowded apartment has a lot of really wonderful memories.

One of the very adorable things about Len is his guitar playing.  He often serenaded me in that tiny little apartment, now most of the time his lyrics consisted of descriptions of what I was doing at the time.  "she's sitting on the couch"  "she's stirring a pot on our stove" "she putting on her shoes to go out siiiiiiiide"  It is far more adorable than I could really explain.

Today's song is Somewhere over the rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.  It is a Hawaiian version with a very plucky little guitar.  The guitar makes me think of Len, and the line "dreams really do come true" makes me smile.

Enjoy

On a side note.  I really would like to go to Hawaii.
